DOMAINES DE RECHERCHE

Andrea Acri recherche l’histoire religieuse de l’Inde et de l’Asie du Sud-Est, avec une attention particulière à la circulation des traditions tantriques shîvaites et bouddhistes. Ayant consacré sa thèse de doctorat sur l'étude des textes shîvaites en vieux javanais à la lumière des sources sanskrites de l’Inde, notamment les tantras du Shaiva Siddhānta, les textes de la tradition Pāśupata, et les traités sur le yoga de Patañjali, il reste actif dans ce domaine d’enquête. Il s'intéresse également à l’Hinduisme balinais au période moderne et contemporaine, et à l’histoire intellectuelle de l’Asie des moussons dans la longue durée.
